There should be something inherently cool about a big Italian sports sedan. But this styling language? I think it’s amazing on the Ghibli, but doesn’t translate well when applied to the QP’s larger proportions. The side windows just look SO small, which is a problem all modern cars face thanks to regulations, but is especially bad here IMO. You can’t un-see it. My hope is that we’ll see a fastback sedan restyle sometime soon.

I read the title as:

Agree - I’ve seen several QP’s recently, and the proportions around the rear door/C pillar look wrong on this car to me. It gives the impression, like a lot of malaise-era land yachts, that it’s a really big car that has a disproportionately small interior. Yet the Ghibli looks good—

this is not a good thing

I read this and thought “WTF???”. Then I thought about it, and I see what you mean. Even worse is that I like Kia’s look better than this—

I can see that, Kia has a similar language going on

solution: axe the QP because nobody buys them and put the V8 in the Ghibli as an M4 competitor.

That works for me, but probably not for Maserati - your suggestion would have to battle the M5, price-wise. The V8 QP starts at double the price of a Ghibli - and putting the V8 in a Ghibli would still be a $100k+ car that might not outperform the Guilia QF. And yeah, around me, Ghiblis are a fairly common sight, but I rarely see the QP - by odd coincidence, though, I’ve seen 2-3 QP’s I n the last week or 2.

The previous QP was fantastically pretty and timeless. This one is nice-looking, but clearly compromised by the need to save money by sharing as much as possible with the Ghibli.

I think that they ruined it with the redesign. It looks like a chinese copy of the older car, which isn’t anything they can be proud of.

I can’t be the only one who thinks the QP’s way better looking than the Ghibli! Especially the front. The Ghibli’s unnecessarily square and cheap-looking. Makes me think of a Jeep. The QP’s not drop-dead Italian sexy (which it really should be), but it’s not bad looking.

So did I and thought hmm that doesn’t sound too bad
